Awards of the CZSO in 2021

 

  • The magazine Statistika & My (Statistics & Us) and a series of posters for the Mini-census project won awards in the Phoenix content marketing competition. Statistika & My came third in the B2B magazine category. The poster set for the Mini-census project was awarded first place in the Best Illustration and Its Use category.
  • The Contracts Under the Magnifying Glass project evaluated the CZSO tender document "Geoportal for the Census 2021 geographic data dissemination" as the best IT tender document in the month of November 2021.
  • Kamil Vařeka, Head of CZSO's Public Contracts Unit, was awarded the title of Corporate Lawyer of the Year 2021 in the category of public procurement and competition. The award is given by the Union of Corporate Lawyers of the Czech Republic for outstanding contribution to corporate legal practice.
  • The non-profit Remobil, z.s., awarded a certificate of a socially responsible institution to the Czech Statistical Office for the collection of mobile phones and other e-waste. The environmental benefit was, for example, a saving of 317 kg CO2 equivalent of emissions per year or 5,980 litres of drinking water saved.
  • The expert jury of the international competition European Contact Centre & Customer Service Awards 2021 awarded the Census 2021 customer service centre project third place in the Best Cross-Functional Collaboration category. The quality of cooperation between CZSO and Conectart in the development and operation of the call centre was recognised. The centre, primarily used to help people who needed help with the census, was operational for 10 weeks, during which time it handled 266,245 phone calls and 22,686 email enquiries. More than half of the telephone calls were handled by a machine without the need for a human operator. The census call centre also succeeded in a national call centre competition organised by the ADMEZ association. It won second place in the Client category.
  • Jan Moucha, the author of the Census 2021 visual style, triumphed in the Corporate Design category in the ADC Czech Creative Awards competition. The logotype is a stylized numeral of the year, the numbers are made of pictograms of a pie chart, a person, a pin and a house. The numeral 2 from the logo then forms the mascot, which became the informal communication platform of the census. "The visual style is based on simple illustrations, made up of graphs, arrows, pins, etc. The identity is playful and friendly to break the stigma of the past years, when the census was seen by people as a bureaucratic nuisance and an invasion of privacy," Moucha wrote about the project.
  • The visual style of Census 2021 won a prestigious international award in the Corporate Identity category of the World Logo Design Awards.
  • The visual style of Census 2021 took 2nd place in the World Brand Design Society Award in the Creative Design Award category.
  • The CZSO was awarded an honourable mention by the Association of Power and Energy Service Providers (APES) in the Best Upcoming Energy Efficiency Project of 2020 competition. The award-winningoffice building modernization project for nearly 150 million CZKemphasizes the use of renewable energy sources, specifically photovoltaics.
